DESCRIPTION:Our annual Churchill Birthday cigar sampling event takes place on Thursday 27th November 6:30pm\, as we commemorate his 151st Birthday. A Julieta No.2 or more commonly known as a Churchill cigar is\, as usual\, on the menu for the evening. The Romeo y Julieta Churchill\, 7’’ x 47 ring gauge provides the platform for an entertaining couple of hours on St James’s Street. Churchill’s satisfaction of cognac and champagne are widely known\, however there is no doubt he was a man of lavish tastes who indulged in many different spirits and wines. So\, for this year we are going with a sparkling wine closer to home\, as we will be enjoying Nyetimber. As the times have gone on\, if English sparkling wine was at the quality it is today\, Sir Winston would have undoubtedly enjoyed his fair share (possibly even more so than champagne due to it being local). \nBecause we have decided to go with British sparkling wine we are making it a duly British affair with the drinks as we welcome The Lakes Whisky. Distilled in the Lake District\, their whiskies have impressed in recent years\, winning a variety of global awards. As the cigar gets into its middle third with those earthier notes\, we will be enjoying rich-bodied drams of The Lakes The Whiskymaker’s Reserve No.7 and another one of their bottlings. \nJoin us for our annual marquee event at the oldest cigar shop in the world as we salute to one of our former patrons and greatest ever Briton.

DESCRIPTION:For our last cigar masterclass of the year\, our cigar sommeliers are delighted to present a very special and rare cigar indeed – the Trinidad Fundadores. This size\, also known as a lancero\, or ‘lance’ in English was a favourite of Fidel Castro himself and has become one of the most sought-after cigars. It is seven inches long with a slender ring of 40\, making a cigar with a very complex development. Begins mild and easy and then develops through to a powerful but always well controlled finish. The Trinidad Fundadores is beautifully paired with an equally impressive drinks pairing\, the smooth Darroze Chateau de Gaube 1962 from Armagnac. This precious liquid has sat for 60 years\, laid down only three years before Fidel Castro came to power in Cuba; a fitting match for one of his favourite cigars.

DESCRIPTION:On Thursday 13th November we will be celebrating the EMS release of the Habanos Ramon Allones Absolutos. The Absolutos is the final of the 2024 Edicion Limitada to be released in the UK following the Trinidad Cabildos and H.Upmann Magnum Finite. The cigar will be released the week commencing 10th November\, so our sampling event enables guests to be some of the first in the UK to smoke and purchase the cigar. \nOur pairing will be unique and quite fitting for the cigar. Inspired by The Ashes Series starting on 21st November\, we want to host our own version of the famous England vs Australia contest. We will taste two amazing Sparkling Wine brands\, Nyetimber & House of Arras from England and Australia\, respectively. We are bringing the world-renowned wine estates from different sides of the Earth to showcase their outstanding products. Climate\, terroir\, heritage all goes into the results of their wines\, and while they are different\, both demonstrate a level of wonderful quality. Joining us will be a familiar face and friend to James J. Fox\, Hemil Haria\, brand ambassador for Nyetimber\, and we welcome Toby Spiers for the first time\, Brand Ambassador for House of Arras. \nJoining this delightful evening will be a brand ambassador for Marc-Antoine Barrios to acquaint guests with the masterful Parisian Maison of perfumery. Located at the famous Piccadilly Arcade a couple minutes’ walk away from us on St James’s Street\, we are delighted to welcome them to the evening to add another element of luxury product to proceedings.
