For a little while, I’ve been wondering what cigar to smoke to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. At first I was going to get my hands on another Exclusivo Gran Bretaña cigar from the big Cuban cigar brands, I smoked one of those recently during my visit to The Stafford Hotel, London.
Instead I thought I’d celebrate this occasion with a cigar from new cigar brand called Trident Military Cigars. I believe the crew behind these cigars are based in London, UK.

I originally got this cigar from Cigar Club LDN, but as always I missed the in person event + zoom call where the gang smoked them and had a rep from Trident talking about the cigars. So I’m having to do my own research on the brand.
The cigar I am about to smoke is named the Warspite.

Background:
Trident Military Cigars started out as an idea between two friends in a South London pub, who met at a cigar tasting and soon realised each other’s passion for cigars, history and the Armed Forces. The duo wanted to created a Veteran owned cigar company, wanting to serve the same people that have served, still serve and for anyone who genuinely has a passion for cigars.
Trident Military Cigars have teamed up with James Elliot to fund one to one therapy sessions and PTSD awareness training for these people who need it. Aswell as making donations to SSAFA – The Armed Forces Charity and Scotty’s Little Soldiers. For every box sold they will donate 10% of their box sales towards these.
The ‘Warspite‘ cigar is dedicated to all those who have served. Those that still are serving with the Royal Navy, those who have served along side and those that support. Loyalty, selfless commitment, discipline and courage are just some of the words that Trident Military Cigars use to describe these people.
This particular cigar is named after the ship HMS Warspite. Warspite’s long service, participating in both World War’s. Smashing multiple targets all over the world. Achieving the longest range gunnery hits from a moving ship to a moving target to ever be recorded in history. It carries the most battle honors of any ship in the Royal Navy and its leader showed courage when more often than not had numerous quarrels with Sir Winston himself! This cigar is dedicated to the people of the Royal Navy & those that have served alongside them.
My experience:

This is a fantastic cigar at a really affordable price. The Warspite cigar does produce quite a bit of smoke at first, but it’s a really enjoyable experience. It’s really light to hold, the ash stays around for quite some time and I get cedar woody flavour notes throughout.

My rating: 8 out 10
