In September 2024, Mitchell Orchant, founder of C.Gars Ltd and a key player in the UK’s cigar industry, made an exciting announcement on the Sip n’ Smoke Podcast, hosted by Lewis and Billy.
Mitchell announced that he was creating a new cigar brand with a unique puffin mascot.
Fast forward to today, and Puffin Cigars have officially arrived!
The new line is available through C.Gars Ltd, the UK’s largest specialist cigar merchant. True to Orchant’s reputation, Puffin Cigars aim to deliver a great cigar smoking experience with a playful twist, wrapped up in a nod to the charismatic seabird that inspired the branding.
The cigars are made entirely from 100% Honduran tobacco, including a Honduran wrapper, binder, and filler, which suggests a well-balanced and flavorful profile typical of the region’s finest tobacco.

The Puffin Rooms concept was envisioned by Ron Morrison (business partner of Mitchell’s) and is deeply connected with the Puffin brand. Located in Liverpool and Edinburgh (see my review of this place from last year), these sophisticated cocktail lounges and sampling rooms/terraces are celebrated for their luxurious ambiance and outstanding hospitality. The partnership is a natural fit, uniting premium cigars and upscale lounges to cater to those with a taste for the finer things in life.
