Davidoff is set to release its latest limited-edition cigar in the UK, unveiling the Year of the Horse — the newest entry in the Swiss brand’s long-running series celebrating the Chinese zodiac. The cigar, positioned firmly within the luxury collector market, will be available from Thursday, 20 November 2025.

The official title, Davidoff Year of the Horse Limited Edition 2026 Toro Especial, reflects the cigar’s larger format: a 6½-inch smoke with a 55 ring gauge, blended to deliver a medium-to-full strength profile over an estimated 70 to 90 minutes.

Inspired by the diversity of horse breeds, Davidoff has created a blend composed exclusively of proprietary hybrid seeds with a combined tobacco age of an impressive 43 years – a first for the brand. Three Dominican vintage tobaccos in the filler add depth and smoothness.
Early notes are said to include warm spice and cedar, before developing into tones of roasted nuts, chocolate and a subtle fruity sweetness. A toasted complexity is reported to carry the blend into a long and refined finish.
A Continuing Zodiac Tradition
The Year of the Horse continues Davidoff’s annual zodiac-themed series, which has become one of the most recognisable and collectable lines in the premium cigar market. Each edition is blended and presented to reflect traits associated with the featured zodiac sign—this year aiming to capture the “confidence, elegance and vitality” of the Horse.
A couple of years back the brand marked a milestone with the completion of its first full zodiac cycle, commemorated through the Davidoff The Year of Collector’s Edition, a compilation of releases from 2013’s Year of the Snake through to 2024’s Year of the Dragon. This will set you back £20,888.00 if you purchase from Davidoff of London.
In 2027 it will be ‘Year of the Goat’ and 2028 ‘Year of the Monkey’.
UK launch events
According to Havana House and CGars a single Year of the Horse cigar will be priced at £86.99. A box of 10 appears to be £840.00.

To accompany the UK release, Davidoff UK will host several launch events: those announced already include one at No.6 Cavendish in London (which is already SOLD OUT) on the evening of 20 November, and a second at Surrey Cigars on 21 November. Tickets, priced at £90, include a cigar, cocktails and light food.

Handcrafted exclusivity
Production of the limited edition is reserved for Davidoff’s Master Rollers—artisans with more than 15 years of experience—who hand-roll each Toro Especial.
Presentation plays a significant role in the overall release, with the cigars housed in a dark natural-wood box featuring engraved detailing, saddle-inspired interior touches and an individually numbered collector’s coin.
Collectors Edition – Limited Torpedo Cigar
There will also be some boxes of the Davidoff Flagship Edition exclusively for Davidoff of London. These are boxes of 24 and in Torpedo shape. Same shape as the Special T. 600 boxes worldwide only
