It’s not every day that an invitation from S.T. Dupont lands in your inbox — especially one inviting you to an exclusive preview at the Royal Society of Arts in London. So when Stone Marketing invited me to preview the brand’s upcoming Haute Création range, I knew I had to book a half-day of annual leave and attend!

Traditionally, a cigar smoker’s essentials are fairly simple: a cutter, a lighter, cigars, an ashtray, and perhaps a travel case or a humidor. The deeper you venture into the hobby, however, the more you realise that the accessories themselves can become objects of fascination and collecting in their own right.
While I’ve spent the last few years exploring cigars, I’m still relatively early in my journey with premium cigar accessories. Brands such as S.T. Dupont occupy a level that many enthusiasts aspire to — where craftsmanship, heritage, and collectability meet.
Stepping up my cigar accessory game
I remember when I was first getting into my cigars and seeing a fellow cigar smoker using a jet-flame lighter, I was amazed by the power and precision compared to the basic lighters I had been using. It quickly became clear that there was an entire world of cigar accessories I had barely explored.
My first upgrades were a Colibri SV-Cut cutter and a Colibri Rally jet lighter. While they served me well initially, the paint finish began chipping away after only a few months of regular use. Around the same time, I purchased a windproof Zippo for outdoor cigar smoking, although that too eventually succumbed to wear and tear.
Unfortunately, I also have a habit of lending cigar accessories to folk and forgetting to get them back — or simply leaving them behind at cigar events 🤦♂️. As a result, I often find myself carrying whichever cutter or lighter happens to be available at the time.
Last year, I received my first S.T. Dupont lighter as part of the Punch Princesas launch in Cyprus – it was inside the goody bag. Given my track record with accessories, I’m not quite brave enough to carry it regularly. Instead, it occupies pride of place at home as more of a display piece than an everyday tool.
Even so, it provided my first glimpse into the world of S.T. Dupont and an appreciation for the craftsmanship behind these iconic accessories!
About S.T. Dupont
Founded in 1872 by Simon Tissot-Dupont, S.T. Dupont is one of France’s most respected luxury houses.

Originally specialising in bespoke travel trunks and leather goods, the company later became synonymous with luxury lighters, writing instruments, and accessories.
Over the decades, the brand has built a reputation for meticulous craftsmanship, precision engineering, and distinctive finishes. Perhaps most famous among cigar enthusiasts is the unmistakable “ping” produced when opening a Ligne 2 lighter — a sound that has become one of the brand’s defining signatures.
The Preview at The Royal Society of Arts
The Preview showcased upcoming 2026/27 releases, including limited editions, core collections, and Haute Création pieces. The setting itself felt perfectly suited to the occasion, with beautifully displayed collections that blurred the line between luxury accessories and functional art.

My attention was immediately drawn to the new Cohiba 60th Anniversary Collection, created in collaboration with Habanos S.A. The releases from this particular collection will be rolled out across the UK at different points throughout the year, starting in June 2026 and followed by a second release in November 2026.

Originally intended to debut alongside this year’s postponed XXVI Festival del Habano in Havana (the annual cigar festival in Cuba), this exceptional collaboration with Cohiba marks the brand’s 60th anniversary. It brings together two distinguished traditions: French savoir-faire in luxury fire-making and accessories, and Cohiba’s Cuban cigar legacy — a lasting emblem of refinement, heritage, and craftsmanship.

S.T. Dupont and Cohiba have collaborated on numerous collections over the past three decades. However, this anniversary edition feels especially significant in light of the milestone it marks.

Cohiba 60 Humidor
I hadn’t realised that S.T. Dupont’s range extended to humidors, making the appearance of the Cohiba 60 Humidor at the Preview a pleasant surprise.

Constructed from Okoumé wood and designed to hold approximately 115 cigars, it immediately commanded attention.

The gold accents, transparent logo window, and beautifully finished exterior gave it an unmistakable presence.

While photographs undoubtedly capture some of its beauty, seeing it in person was something else entirely.
Beyond Cohiba: Haute Création and Other Collaborations
Beyond the Cohiba collection, the preview also showcased a fascinating selection of Haute Création pieces and collaborative projects including Maki-e…

and Orlinski…

One of the most unexpected collections I saw featured Harley-Davidson, demonstrating the breadth of S.T. Dupont’s partnerships. There were also playful and highly artistic designs that felt more like gallery exhibits than traditional accessories.

Looking at some of these pieces, it was difficult to comprehend the level of hand-finishing and craftsmanship involved in their production. Many appeared destined for private collections rather than everyday use, reinforcing the idea that Haute Création exists at the intersection of luxury craftsmanship and artistic expression.
Final thoughts
This preview provided an absolutely fascinating glimpse into the future direction of S.T. Dupont’s collections for 2026 and beyond. I felt very lucky to be there!

Between the Cohiba 60th Anniversary range, the artistic collaborations, and the extraordinary Haute Création pieces, one thing became abundantly clear: these are far more than simple cigar accessories. They are collectible objects that combine heritage, engineering, craftsmanship, and art.
As someone who still occasionally loses a cigar cutter or lighter, owning a Haute Création piece remains firmly in dream territory. After seeing these collections up close, I can completely understand why collectors value them so highly.
Walking out of the Royal Society of Arts, I left with a greater appreciation not only for S.T. Dupont’s craftsmanship, but also for the role these accessories play within cigar culture itself.
