A new outdoor cigar terrace has opened at the Dakota Manchester Airport hotel after the luxury property welcomed its first guests earlier this week.

The seven-storey hotel, which opened on 1 July 2026, features a purpose-built al fresco cigar terrace alongside its Bar & Grill. Guests can enjoy cigars in a sheltered outdoor setting, with access to a walk-in humidor offering a curated selection of premium cigars mainly Cuban cigars. Food and drinks from the hotel’s restaurant and bar are also available on the terrace.

The facility becomes the second Dakota cigar terrace in Greater Manchester, joining the existing terrace at the group’s Manchester city centre hotel on Ducie Street. Dakota Hotels also operates dedicated cigar terraces at its hotels in Glasgow and Newcastle, making the feature an increasingly established part of the group’s hospitality offering.

Dedicated hotel cigar terraces remain uncommon across Greater Manchester, with only a small number of venues offering purpose-built outdoor spaces for cigar smokers. Industry rumours have also suggested that Astons of Manchester is exploring options for a dedicated cigar sampling area elsewhere in the city, although no formal plans have been announced.
