British cigar smoker George Stansfield has won the 2026 Cigar Smoking World Championship Grand Final in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Stansfield, a regular at Surrey Cigars in the UK, took the title with a time of 2 hours, 32 minutes and 50 seconds, beating competitors from around the world.

For much of the competition, it looked as though Japan and Italy were heading for first and second place, but the standings changed dramatically as the final progressed, with burned cigar bands resulting in time penalties.
Germany’s Oliver Steinhäuser finished second in 2:28:57, while American Drew Emch came third with 2:13:07.
Stansfield’s victory is a major result for Team GB and marks the first time a British competitor has won the CSWC world title.
His success comes after finishing second in the UK championship, earning him a place at the Grand Final in Dubrovnik.

Congratulations to George and the whole Team GB squad on an incredible result.
