Registration has opened for the 19th ProCigar Festival, an annual celebration of the Dominican Republic’s premium cigar industry.
The event will take place from 16 to 19 February 2027 in Santiago de los Caballeros, with cigar enthusiasts from around the world expected to attend.
Organised by the Association of Dominican Cigar Manufacturers (ProCigar), the festival will offer visitors an opportunity to explore the people, traditions and craftsmanship behind the country’s cigar industry.
The programme is set to include tours of cigar factories and tobacco fields, educational sessions, cigar talks, tastings and cultural events. ProCigar member companies will also host a series of evening events featuring live entertainment and food.
The festival will culminate in an Auction Gala Dinner, combining fine dining and entertainment with ProCigar’s annual charity auction.
The auction will feature exclusive humidors, collectible cigar lots and limited-edition releases donated by member companies. Proceeds will support initiatives benefiting the Dominican cigar community.
New events planned for 2027
Two new experiences have been added to the festival programme for 2027.
The ProCigar Hopping Tour will take participants on a series of short visits to strategic partners within the Dominican tobacco cluster, offering an insight into companies and businesses connected to the industry.
A separate ProCigar Discovery Tour will provide a broader introduction to the Dominican tobacco sector, presenting the industry from Procigar’s perspective.
The festival has also attracted growing interest from international cigar enthusiasts. You can read my first-hand account of the 2026 event that included factory and tobacco-field visits, festival events and opportunities to meet people working across the industry.

Organisers say the festival is intended to offer more than a showcase of premium cigars, highlighting the country’s culture and the people involved in producing some of the world’s best-known tobacco products.
From tobacco fields and cigar factories to meetings with manufacturers and industry figures, the organisers have adopted the theme “Every Moment Has a Story” for the 2027 festival.
