Readers have contacted me this morning to report that tickets for the upcoming Cohiba Talisman World Launch in London have sold out, with prospective attendees who missed out being placed on a waiting list.

The event, taking place on 7 October at the Orangery at Kensington Palace, will mark Cohiba’s 60th anniversary and the return of the Talisman as a permanent addition to the brand’s Línea Clásica.

Hunters & Frankau, which is organising the UK event, has confirmed to prospective attendees that no further tickets are currently available.

High demand for London launch

An email sent by Hunters & Frankau to prospective attendees stated: “Due to exceptionally high demand, we no longer have any tickets available.

The company said it had added the recipient to a waiting list and would make contact should additional tickets become available.

“Should any additional tickets become available, we will be in touch with you as soon as possible,” the email added.

The reported sell-out comes after Hunters & Frankau previously said that interest from cigar enthusiasts around the world had “exceeded all expectations”. The level of demand contributed to the decision to move the event to the larger Orangery at Kensington Palace.

Around 400 people are anticipated to attend, including cigar enthusiasts, retailers and industry figures from the UK and overseas.

Tickets were priced at £600 plus VAT, or £720 including VAT.

Guests are due to receive a Cohiba Talisman gift box containing three cigars. Hunters & Frankau has put the approximate retail value of the presentation at £600, while 6,500 boxes are being produced for the UK market.

The Talisman measures 154mm in length with a 54 ring gauge. Originally released in 2017 as a Limited Edition, it is now returning as a permanent addition to Cohiba’s Línea Clásica.

The October event will formally mark the worldwide launch of the returning Cohiba Talisman as part of Cohiba’s 60th anniversary celebrations.
