Later this month, London will host Habanos World Days, a series of events from Thursday, June 20th, to Saturday, June 22nd, 2024, marking the grand 55th anniversary of the iconic Habanos cigar brand Trinidad.
This series of events will include a cocktail party at Belgravia Square, a seminar and exhibition, and a gala dinner at the Victoria & Albert Museum, where the new Trinidad Cabildos cigar will be launched.
Various bits of content have been popping up on the internet over the past couple of days… check out Cigar Inspector‘s latest video where Usman talks to Hunters & Frankau’s Ana Lopez about the Trinidad Cabildos.
Nick Foulkes talks about ‘Why the Trinidad is the cigar of the year‘ in an article published in yesterday’s Financial Times.

And you can watch Kirby Allison‘s latest documentary, commissioned by Hunters & Frankau on the Trinidad cigar brand here:
Since I posted about this event in March, many readers have been reaching out to me, shocked by the high prices of these specific events. The gala dinner will set you back £1,250 (it will include 5x Trinidad Cabildos cigars), but all tickets for it seem to be SOLD OUT now.
Fortunately, regular cigar folk will also have the opportunity to participate in the celebrations with Trinidad Tasting Time. This is a series of 55 exclusive tastings of Habanos Trinidad cigars held at various cigar venues on Friday, June 21st throughout the UK. The events will not feature samples of the new Trinidad Cabildos as it will be reserved for the gala dinner launch night. However, each store will offer a sample of a cigar from the portfolio of Trinidad cigars.

I’d love to attend one of the Habanos World Days events, but they are just way out of my price range, so these tastings feel like the next best thing to be a part of.
I compiled my own spreadsheet to compare the venues hosting these events, how much they cost, and what’s included – to work out what’s the best value for money. I thought I’d share this information with you as well.

Some key things jumped out:
- The most common Trinidad cigar being sampled seems to be the Trinidad Fundadores cigar – which retails between £76 (CGars) and £138 (Davidoff of London).
- No.6 Cavendish & La Casa del Habano, Teddington in London is hosting the most expensive event at £185.00 (which is now SOLD OUT), whilst Mitchells Wines in Sheffield is the cheapest at £35.00.
- Some venues are offering 2x Trinidad cigars at their event including James J Fox (£130). Surrey Cigars (£125) is offering including the 1x Trinidad Fundadores cigar and 1 x Vintage 2006 Trinidad Reyes Cigar.
- Some venues are hosting dinners with the sampling of cigars including OM Cigars (£175) with a 3 course meal at Michael Nadra Primrose Hill.
- James Barber in North Yorkshire appear to be hosting their event on the Sunday evening 23rd June, whereas everyone else seems to be hosting on the Friday evening.
- A lot of the hotels with cigar sampling lounges/terraces don’t seem to be pushing the events, and some venues have not mentioned anything about the events on their website.
- I understand that there are several private members’ clubs hosting events, but the specific details are not publicly disclosed. From a quick google search there are approximately eight private members cigar clubs I’ve managed to track down, which include Annabel’s, Mark’s Club, Oscuro at The Arts Club, Ten Trinity Square, Soho Whiskey Club, Smoking Room at The East India Club, Monty Club, Century Club, and Langans. However, I have no information regarding which of these venues will be hosting events.
Anyways, here is the complete list of what I have found so far. Please note that these details may change. I have just copied and pasted them from each website, so it’s important to double-check the cigar venues’ site to make sure the information is up to date.
If the above link doesn’t work, click here (it may open in another tab/window).
I still haven’t decided which venue to attend – although Mitchell Wines in Sheffield looks VERY TEMPTING, but hoping to make a decision soon. If you have tickets for one of these 55 events or the cocktail party, seminar and exhibition or gala dinner, please do let me know how it goes!
