Ok London, a brand new cigar shop and sampling lounge—Ciglo Cigars—has just opened on Church Street, in Marylebone!

It’s currently in its soft launch phase; the main humidor is still under construction, so a temporary one is in place for now. However, the doors are open and the space already looking pretty decent 👌 —I’m really excited about this one!
Background
Adam Ali is the man behind it all. A fellow cigar enthusiast, he has spent many enjoyable hours as a regular at No. Ten Manchester Street cigar shop and terrace over the years. His go-to cigar is the Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchill, while his most memorable experience with a cigar was with a Partagas Lusitanias Gran Reserva Cosecha 2007 (2013).

Over the years, we’ve crossed paths online a few times and had even tried to meet up for a cigar, but unfortunately, that never materialised. I never imagined that our first in-person meeting would be at his VERY OWN cigar shop! 🤯
Adam is a man of many talents. Before he opened his shop, he spent over a decade running a successful business designing custom air and climate control systems for luxury homes throughout London. He’s also the founder of Exterra Veritas, a company specialising in bespoke wine cellars, humidors, and cigar rooms for numerous high-end properties. His background in air systems is evident; the shop boasts top-notch ventilation and extraction (which I’ll share below!). That background—paired with his love of cigars and fine interior design skills—makes Ciglo Cigars feel like a natural next step 👌.
The shop is located in a former antiques space, fittingly surrounded by Church Street’s many antique stores. The area is full of character. While I was there, I met Leon, the charismatic owner of Young & Sons Antique Shop. More than just a shopkeeper, he’s a local storyteller and unofficial historian. His shop is packed with vintage finds and rare collectibles, each with its own story.
Leon told me about the Church Street Antique Market happening on June 29th—a lively, multicultural event that draws collectors and visitors from all over, a great time to visit the area and pick up a cigar!
Ciglo Cigars will be more than just a cigar shop—it will be a living showcase of Adam’s craftsmanship, vision, and signature humidors. It’s a place where you will be able to relax in the cigar lounge, sample a cigar, and co-design your own bespoke humidor or cigar room on the spot with Adam’s expertise.
And where did this passion begin? It was Adam’s father who first introduced him to the world of cigars, making this venture not just a business, but a deeply personal journey.
My experience
I first heard about this cigar shop a couple of weeks ago, not realising at the time that Adam of Exterra Veritas was involved with it. Since then, I’ve had several people reach out to me asking for more information. Feeling it was my duty to investigate further (with this blog) 🕵, I got on the case, and I’m so glad I did! ️
As mentioned earlier, Ciglo Cigars is still a work in progress. A custom-built humidor is on the way, and for now, the shop is operating under a soft launch. While it’s still early days, visitors have the chance to get a first look — and more importantly, sample and purchase cigars ahead of the official opening. Final touches to the interior are being completed over the next couple of weeks.
I was fortunate enough to be one of the first to drop by, making my visit feel like a real privilege. I popped in over the weekend, on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
The cigar shop is located at 7a Church Street, just a 7-minute walk from Marylebone Station on the Bakerloo line. It may be even quicker from Edgware Road, but this was the route I took.

As soon as I turned onto Church Street, I was reminded of places like Edmundo’s in Fulham and Fumar in Shepherd Market. The street featured similar townhouse-style buildings: brick-built terraces with shopfronts at street level and simple sash-windowed flats above. It had that typical London look!

Upon ringing the doorbell, I met Adam in person for the first time, and I was immediately made to feel welcome inside.

Wow, what a lounge! 🔥 Ciglo Cigars offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere with a clear focus on quality and design.

This engineered cigar room currently features six comfortable brown leather chairs, with plans to expand to ten. The seating is thoughtfully arranged to spark conversation—perfect for connecting with fellow cigar lovers, swapping stories, and maybe even making new friends. A few well-placed tables hold ashtrays, cutters, and lighters, all resting on a beautifully finished wooden floor.

The shop has a great selection of Cuban cigars. During my visit, I enjoyed one of my favourite Cuban cigars—the H. Upmann Magnum 54—paired with a relaxing Saturday afternoon and a good cup of coffee.

If you’ve seen Adam’s work online, you’ll know his architectural sketches and humidor designs are genuinely impressive.
The shop walls display intricate technical illustrations.

One of the standout features—aside from the cigars, lounge space, and an upcoming custom-built humidor—is the extraordinary ventilation system Adam designed and built himself. You won’t walk out smelling like cigars in here.

Seriously, you can see the smoke being drawn away right before your eyes. It’s functional, stylish, and a brilliant showcase of his talent.
The venue is equipped with all the modern conveniences, including a conveniently located toilet nearby!
After my cigar, and great conversation with Adam it was time to move on. This place has all the makings of a Marylebone staple. Once fully up and running, Ciglo Cigars is sure to become a must-visit for cigar enthusiasts. If you get the chance to stop by during the soft launch phase, I highly recommend it!
